Refinery

Peppers ghost projection of a refinery worker. To achieve the length of the actors walk we used a camera on a track with markers for distance, walkway length and screen breaks. We shot the actor against green screen, with additional rotoscoping, tracking, stabilisation and re-colour of actors overalls from blue to beige. The sequence was then composited onto a CG model of a gantry.

heroes of fire

The subject of the film required us to generate scenes depicting oil fires in Kuwait from Iraq's invasion and the environmental effects of the aftermath. The reason for the recreation was that all of the library footage available of these events is not of an adequate resolution for the projection area. We found that the best solution was a combination of matte paintings, camera projection and fire/smoke generation using Turbulance FD in C4D.
